Yes, the Jewellery Quarter Farmers Market is back! To celebrate there will be a community barbecue and market from 4 – 9pm in St Paul’s Square in the Jewellery Quarter this Thursday.

Squisito will be going all out with an Italian grigliata mista (mixed grill) so we’ll have Alex’s Italian sausages, Sara’s Kings Ribs, Sara’s Steak Burgers and Fosse Meadows Chicken voted Britain’s Best Gourmet Chicken by ‘The Independent’. Needless to say we’ll have interesting contorni and Sicilian tomatoes so you and your friends can relax on the grass and enjoy ‘il picnic Inghilese’ in the park in true Squisito style.

Tickets for Secret Squisito at The Jekyll & Hyde gin palace in Steelhouse Lane on Tuesday 10th September from 7pm are now available.

If you’re wondering what a Secret Squisito is like read this review from a supper clubber last Saturday;
“Just a quick email to thank you and Alex for a really enjoyable evening last night.
We were all so stuffed by the time we got in the car we couldn’t have contemplated eating another crumb but nevertheless spent the journey home talking through every course (all good!) and our individual favourite bits. I didn’t think I’d manage another mouthful after the cheeses but the mango & strawberry lasagne dessert with the mascarpone gelato was just irresistible.

As a family, we always book a meal together to celebrate our birthdays and this one will be hard to beat. It was a lovely relaxed evening with great food and company. Being guided on the wine choices was also really helpful.

We found you by chance after booking tickets for the Good Food Show and are so pleased we did!

Today we’ve been singing your praises to our neighbours who were very intrigued and definitely want to join us next time we visit -hopefully sooner rather than later.”

Feedback from Sardinian Supper Club on 9.6.12

Amazing Sold Out Supper Club last Saturday. Despite the cold weather a ray of Mediterranean sunshine was present at Squisito HQ. The sunshine food – peaches & prosciutto, spaghetti with lobster & tomato and caffe al affogato really perked everyone up and made this a night to remember and some very happy supper clubbers.

This is what they had to say…

“Secret? No way… the word is out. What a fabulous night. Thank you, gorgeous food and great company”

“Fantastic experience, food delicious and company delightful. We will be back”

“What a fabulous evening, the food and company were wonderful. We can’t wait for the next one, many thanks”

“What a wonderful wedding present, great food, wonderful wine and super company”

Now booking for July (only 4 tickets left), August and September

Sardinian Supper Club – Sat 9th June 2012 SOLD OUT

Born out of out of village ‘socials’ of the past, the ‘paladares’ of Cuba and New York Supper Clubs, my Secret Squisito supper club provides an antidote to lacklustre restaurant food. You won’t find Secret Squisito in any restaurant guide since it is my contribution to the ‘underground’ or ‘guerilla’ food movement. Secret Squisito is an anti-restaurant!

Secret Squisito is not just about food, it is about ‘good’ food and ‘conviviality’ – meeting new people and sharing our experiences at the table – something you can only get at home. Unlike normal restaurants diners sit down with us and other ‘foodies’ to experience my home cooking and local ingredients prepared by me fresh on the day.

At Secret Squisito there is no ‘sous vide’ but my Rayburn and pizza oven, there’s ‘no food service’ suppliers or artificial anything (because I am a bona fide farmers market producer as and my ingredients are grown here in Monks Kirby or bartered at Farmers Market that morning. In short, I make ‘real’ food with a modern Italian twist. Like any Italian dinner party my food is all homemade and you dine in my home.

There is a wine list – my husband Alex reviews locally avialable Italian supermarket or independent wines every month and gives his wine pairings – for you to bring your own wine so there is no disappointment from not-even-good £2.99 wine marked up to £29.99! Secret Squisito is an “anti-restaurant” in every sense.

Like any memorable experience, Secret Squisito is about the occasion and the ingredients – you are part of it and bring your contribution to the table.

‘Thanks for a brilliant meal at your Supper Club”, Ms Marmite, May 2011

Tickets are just £27.50 per guest ‘excluding service’ which go towards laundry and washing up! Buy a ticket and book a date at Secret Squisito Bookings

You can also reserve fresh bread, Italian sausages, homemade ham, crespelle, Lamborghini’s and what we have at market that day. Just ask to go on my weekly customer email to find out what is new every week and get a free recipe or news about what’s on in the Midlands. Email for more info or discuss dietary requirements.
